What a registry cannot tell you

Listing status is the first question and rarely the last. Price, flow and what a sector did today are elsewhere.

About this list

How many companies are listed on NEPSE?
280 ordinary equities are listed and trading on the Nepal Stock Exchange. Counting every instrument (equity, mutual funds, debentures and preference shares) there are 409 listed securities. The registry also holds delisted and suspended entries, which is why NEPSE's own company list returns a larger number than the count of shares you can actually buy.
What do Listed, Suspended and Delisted mean here?
Listed means the security trades normally. Suspended means trading is halted, usually pending a regulatory or corporate action, and the shares stay in your DEMAT while it lasts. Delisted means the security has been removed from the exchange, most often because the company merged into another, which is why so many former bank and finance symbols sit in this state.
Why do so many delisted companies appear under Commercial Banks?
Merger. Nepal Rastra Bank has pushed consolidation among banks and financial institutions for years, so a long list of former commercial banks, development banks and finance companies now trade under the name of whichever institution absorbed them. The old symbol stays on the registry as delisted.
Is this list live?
No. It is a snapshot captured when the site was last built, currently 26 September 2026, and the registry changes only when a security is listed, suspended or removed. Live prices, intraday movement and alerts are in the Punji app.
Can I see prices for these companies here?
Not on this page. It is a registry, not a quote board: symbol, company, sector, instrument type and listing status. Fifty of the most actively traded symbols have their own page under /stocks carrying broker flow and the monthly price record, and those rows link straight to it.
